Re-elect Al Gore

I’ve had my B. Obama fad; I like R Feingold; I could live with M Warner (I guess); NOT ANOTHER (H) CLINTON.

But why not give the man who actually won the 2000 election his seat at the White House?

No longer listening to pollsters and middle ground advisers, Gore interviews well, believes in something, opposes Iraq, illegal wiretapping and the Partiot Act, is funny, has name recognition and a hard-done-by history, and well, could emotionally erase the last 8 years for us by taking his rightful place as the leader of the free world.

Update: maybe it is possible. Read them all!

Art Heat

A seemingly "in-crowd," jokey, gossipy, opinion and irony-based blog (with a few short, but well-thought out reviews in between – welcome to blog country), Art Heat is the new Cape Town-based group, online-publishing project for fine (and sometimes only relatively fine) art. They’ve  been around a week or so and have a few bugs to work out (and I usually don’t write about things this early on), but I got a personal mail from the editor promising some "big things" soon; and there’s a naked Ed Young pic, so I thought, Why not?

Ed is mentioned in just about every other post, by the way. That guy works really hard and never gets any press, so this is the main reason I decided to feature Art Heat. (Oh look, irony.)

Glad to see another SA art voice – keep it up peops!

“… in Johannesburg… on Christmas eve… bad things happen”

The world’s first feature film to be shot exclusively on Mobile phone cameras is launching its 1st promo at midnight, 5th May (GMT+1).

It will be available exclusively www.smssugarman.com.

The film is written and directed by Aryan Kaganof (www.kaganof.com),

Producer Michelle Wheatley: “We will also be placing the promo on Google, Yahoo and MySpace.com, and trying to reach a global audience.”

The story, an original idea of Kaganof’s, takes place on Christmas Eve, and is a love triangle with a twist. A feel good story for the modern urban viewer.

The film will be distributed on a variety of media, on Mobile TV, the Internet, theatrical, television and DVD platforms, offering the public maximum access in innovative ways.
