sickly

I’ve been all kinds of sick lately, and I am not really enjoying it.
But I did see PJ Sabbagha last night for a fantastic chat. He is co-founder of
the forgotten angle theatre
collaborative,
and I had the pleasure of working with him on the
double room.
It looks like we will likely be collaborating on a new piece
that should go up in July or so, and the
double room
will also be re-visited in downtown Joburg, late this year.
Both pieces are about the discourse surrounding HIV in contemporary South Africa,
and more specifically, the metaphorization of disease. Very emotive, as well as
thought-provoking, stuff.
Here’s
a great article on Kucinich,
one of the Dem hopefuls for the primaries, in the NY Times (need free subscription).
He seems a lot cooler than I initially thought. Still wary on his wishy washy
Pro-Choice stance, though…
The
Note
was completely unforgiving to the Green Party yesterday, taking that
all – too – common – but – in – my – opinion – completely – misled stance that
they "cost Gore the election." Of course there was a difference between
Gore and Bush! But why vote for a slightly better candidate when you can vote
for the best one? Besides, most Nader
voters were people who don’t usually vote. And in my opinion, the reason we are
seeing Dem candidates with far greater differences in this election (as
opposed to the last) has a lot to do with how the Green Party shook up the Dems.
I just hope it’s Dean,
Edwards or Kucinich
on our bill. Please not Lieberman
– he’s even worse than Gore.
