in transit

So, I did finally make it to see some of the Prague Biennale, tho not much. It takes time to get around the city, I’m walking everywhere, and can’t help but stop and stare at beautiful things, imagining their histories. It’s even harder if you are meant to meet people, or are in groups. Some interesting work in the art I had a chance to engage with, mostly Chinese (the good stuff, not the whole show), and when I have time to download images from my camera, will post more about some of them.

Am at the Cybercultures conference, http://inter-disciplinary.net/, right now, and there have already been some really provocative and interesting papers and discussion. One thing I like about this group is how small the conference is (inter-disciplinary always works this way). Everyone is required to go to everyone else’s paper, and no one gets lost. I give the collaborative paper Nicole and I wrote in about 2 hours, so if you read this before then, send me luck via the astral plane….

Tomorrow, we’re on our way to Budapest for a 5-day (and much needed) holiday! Nicole has admittedly not been very good about meeting me at designated times and places since we got to Prague (lunch today is number two of my being ditched….), but hopefully I won’t be standing at the train station all alone ;)
