new forms

“The New Forms Festival is an annual festival forum highlighting emerging forms at the junction of art, culture and technology.” It’d be nice to see some South African arts/academic representation there – the call for works and abstracts is current.

Last night, some local artists came round for a pot-luck dinner – I love the mutual respect for work that is a strong presence here in Johannesburg, almost an awe-like, sincere appreciation, between artists. Granted, there are down sides to any small scene, but this evening brought out all the positives. I hope to see more of those cats :) It’s a small world after all…
