Scandal!
Whilst Bush dictates from on high and war breaks out overseas, a similar battle
has begun in the dance community here. Adrienne Sichel’s article, Umbrella
Stand,
in today’s Star
(Johannesburg) catalyzed varying intellectual property rights questions and insult
gripes around phenomenomadic.
Jeanette
seems to be in a tizzy, and I am not exactly sure what I am supposed to be doing.
I guess most press is good, but I sincerely wish the piece had never gone the
route of comedy/ satire; as someone who is not really part of the SA dance community,
I never really "got it," and I feel terrible about the people who may
be insulted…
