a new ear, uh, year

Happy new year! My better 2/3rds and I just sat around watching DVDs of The
West Wing
, and drinking champagne and single malt scotch, to bring in 2004.
How civilized :) One of my favorite lines in the show talks about voting for the
"lesser of who cares" (haha – John Spencer), and a great Martin Sheen
monologue is when there is a Dr. Joyce Brothers type character who he goes after
on Leviticus and gay rights, as the president – similar to these
(the top post only).

Speaking of biblical-type things, here is a much more interesting take on The
End Of the World.
Thanks to stuart bruce (my old shaolin buddy) for the link.
For those not in the know with the acronyms this flash movie uses, check out this
Acronym
Finder
site – too funny (links directly to "What does STFU stand for?,"
for the loading page of last link).

Dean
Says His Candidacy to Remain Candid
– taking his weakness as a strength, I
have to admit that speaking his mind is what makes Dr. Dean more attractive to
voters like me. However, I wish he would clarify what he means in his own head
a bit more, before attempting to articulate it externally. His heart and mind
are in the right place, but he is no President Josiah Bartlet when it comes to
the gift of words, no matter what we want to believe.

Dean
Focuses on Jobs, Health Care in S.C.
– this one made me happy. "We are
not going to beat George Bush by being ashamed of being Democrats." Go Howard.

Bush
Embraces Some Regulations as Election Approaches
it’s about bloody time! Did
I mention I’m in the process of reading Fast
Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal
? Scary stuff; considering
going vegetarian again…
