{"id":704,"date":"2005-08-09T15:59:23","date_gmt":"2005-08-09T13:59:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nathanielstern.com\/blog\/?p=704"},"modified":"2005-08-09T16:02:29","modified_gmt":"2005-08-09T14:02:29","slug":"live-from-bohemia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nathanielstern.com\/blog\/2005\/08\/09\/live-from-bohemia\/","title":{"rendered":"live from bohemia!!!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I can&#8217;t believe I have finally made it to Prague.<\/p>\n<p>there&#8217;s so much to write, i&#8217;m not even sure where to begin &#8211; and i&#8217;d rather be taking in the city than sitting here blogging the web.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s see; Nicole (my better 2\/3rds) and I are here for two conferences in a row, then for a bit of a holiday. Ironically, even tho nicole has been to two other conferences by this organization, this is the first time there are HEAPS of South Africans here. I guess if you put together a conference on Hope, we know what we&#8217;re doing, eh?<\/p>\n<p>The next conference only starts on Thursday, and that&#8217;s the one I&#8217;m mostly involved in, so I got to take in the city a bit before writing the last bits of said paper. I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;ve ever been to a city so rich in history, with such strange juxtapositions of the old and the new&#8230; The city was destroyed much less than berlin, and the outposts of culture seem to reach further back, and to stranger and more widespread places&#8230;  Admittedly, I&#8217;ve taken a huge interest in the now almost non-existant Jewish population, since they seemed to have had several golden ages in this city alone.<\/p>\n<p>Man, and don&#8217;t forget the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Golem\">Golem<\/a> (tho that link, the Wikipedia reference, is nothing compared to the Rabbi&#8217;s original).<\/p>\n<p>Oh, <a href=\"http:\/\/inter-disciplinary.net\/\">here are the guys whose conferences these are<\/a> &#8211; we&#8217;re doing Hope and Cybercultures.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/nathanielstern.com\/blog\/wp-content\/israelichrist.jpg?w=850\" alt='Here's a figure of Christ that supposedly, A jew peed on, and so was forced to make a gold inscription, in Hebrew' \/><\/p>\n<p>OK.
