{"id":583,"date":"2005-04-11T19:30:59","date_gmt":"2005-04-11T17:30:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nathanielstern.com\/blog\/?p=583"},"modified":"2005-04-11T19:33:51","modified_gmt":"2005-04-11T17:33:51","slug":"hans-bernhard-at-wits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nathanielstern.com\/blog\/2005\/04\/11\/hans-bernhard-at-wits\/","title":{"rendered":"hans bernhard at wits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/nathanielstern.com\/blog\/wp-content\/bernard.jpg?w=850\" alt='hans berhard of etoy and ubermorgen at wits school of the arts'' \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"meta\">hans berhard of etoy and ubermorgen at wits school of the arts; pic by christo doherty<\/div>\n<p>This was a fabfab event co-organized by christo doherty (of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wits.ac.za\/artworks\/\">wits<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/atjoburg.net\">atjoburg<\/a>) and <a href=\"http:\/\/onair.co.za\/\">the trinity session<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hans Bernhard&#8217;s \u00ac\u00ddstyle has been \u00ac\u00dddescribed as &#8220;a digital mix between Andy Kaufman and Jeff Koons, his actions can be seen as underground Matthew Barney and early John\u00ac\u00dd Lydon.&#8221;\u00ac\u00dd\u00ac\u00dd\u00ac\u00ddAs the \u00ac\u00ddfounder of \u00ac\u00ddthe now legendary initiatives of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.etoy.com\">etoy.com<\/a> &#038; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ubermorgen.com\">ubermorgen.com<\/a>, Hans talked about the experience of \u00ac\u00dd10\u00ac\u00dd years of digital actionism, legal art, software art, net.art,\u00ac\u00ddnet-exhibitionism, manic insomnia in south africa and media hacking.<\/p>\n<p>Some other highlights of the talk, which took place on April 1st (yeh, been a slacking blogger) included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gwei.org\/\">google will eat itself<\/a> (new project made for joburg&#8217;s own <a href=\"http:\/\/onair.co.za\/thepremises\/\">premises gallery<\/a>!)<\/li>\n<li>the unforgettable <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vote-auction.net\/\">vote-auction.net<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hansbernhard.com\/X\/pages\/software\/index.html\">IP-NIC<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hansbernhard.com\/X\/pages\/webpainting\/index.html\">anus scan<\/a><\/li>\n<li>and of course, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hijack.org\/\">digital hijack<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dude, it was hot.
