“The New Forms Festival<\/a> is an annual festival forum highlighting emerging forms at the junction of art, culture and technology.” It’d be nice to see some South African arts\/academic representation there – the call for works and abstracts is current.<\/p>\n

Last night, some local artists came round for a pot-luck dinner – I love the mutual respect for work that is a strong presence here in Johannesburg, almost an awe-like, sincere appreciation, between artists. Granted, there are down sides to any small scene, but this evening brought out all the positives.
