Today is bigger than it seems. I moved into my first art studio space, in downtown
\nJohannesburg. CITY+SUBURBAN is a share between myself, Kathryn
\nSmith<\/a> and Christian Nerf.<\/a>
\nGranted, most of my computer "stuff" (video editing, internet access,
\netc.) will remain in my home office, but smaller physical computing feats, writing,
\nreading\/research, and post-computer production (like [hektor:]
\nabstract machines of faciality),<\/i><\/a> as well as meetings with collaborators,
\nfunders, etc., will now happen there. Rock on. I spent most of today outside on
\nthe balcony, doing research (note-taking from The
\nLast Word,<\/a><\/i> by C. Nadia Seremetakis) for a new gestural dance\/poetry piece
\n(with Luana Nasser) whose working title is "hearing things."<\/i>
\nI thought this title very clever until I realized that I hadn’t thought of it
\n– it’s David Schwarz’s<\/a>
\nnew book (not finished yet). Guess we’ll just have to ask him for permission.
