Jeanette and I had very different ideas about the aesthetic<br \/>\n  of this piece. We initially conceptualized <a href=\"\/gallery\/phenomenomadic.html\" target=\"_top\"><i>phenomenomadic<\/i><\/a><br \/>\n  as a careful deconstruction of dance identity in SA, and not a comedy at all.<br \/>\n  When Jeanette started choreographing, workshopping and, by default, directing,<br \/>\n  she chose to show what Krouse calls, &quot;gaping wounds in the [SA] dance community,<br \/>\n  unhealed, that have left choreographers feeling unrecognised.&quot; I had to<br \/>\n  let her, and the actors, run with it, unapologetic.
