Of course, I&#8217;ll stick to just mentioning a<br \/>\nfew people in the above category, cuz otherwise I&#8217;ll have nothing to blog next<br \/>\nyear, right?<\/p>\n<p>First, is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jtnimoy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Josh Nimoy<\/a> &#8211; seems<br \/>\nlike a really cool artist \/ programmer. He has a bunch of free and useful tools<br \/>\non his site, as well as some open source apps and info on his impressive work.<br \/>\nNever met him, but I am an alum of the graduate program he is currently in (and<br \/>\nI graduated when I was the same age he is now &#8211; tho I was not nearly as cool as<br \/>\nhim at the time).<\/p>\n<p>Next, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artthrob.co.za\/03aug\/artbio.html\" target=\"_blank\">Colin<br \/>\nRichards,<\/a> who I did meet once. Really interesting and talented artist &#8211; we<br \/>\nboth teach at the Wits School of Arts.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artthrob.co.za\/01aug\/artbio.html\" target=\"_blank\">Willem Boshoff,<\/a><br \/>\nwho is so nice, that he might even remember my name from the time we met. He is<br \/>\nprobably my favorite South African artist right now. We both showed installations<br \/>\nat the Gencor Gallery in Joburg in &#8217;01 &#8211; only one week apart.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/homepage.mac.com\/davidrokeby\/home.html\" target=\"_blank\">David<br \/>\nRokeby<\/a> is amazingly cool for reasons completely apparent at first glance.<br \/>\nI&#8217;d like to say that <i>this<\/i> is what we have in common, but I am not that<br \/>\ncool. We are both from North America, and we both work with interactive video.<br \/>\nOne day, I may even be able to afford his softVNS objects for Max&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a new one: Kristin Thomas (of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sperare.com\/spam_poetry\/blogger.html\" target=\"_blank\">spam<br \/>\npoetry<\/a>) &#8211; is just plain funny. We both use the <a href=\"http:\/\/blogger.com\" target=\"_blank\">blogger.com<\/a><br \/>\nservice.<\/p>\n<p>Last, and certainly not least, is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.robynorlin.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Robyn<br \/>\nOrlin<\/a> &#8211; we both had work at the FNB Dance Umbrella in Johannesburg last year.<br \/>\nBut, like everyone above, she is much cooler than I am.<\/p>\n<p>Big primary day today in the US; don&#8217;t forget to vote if you are in one of the<br \/>\nparticipating states! I know what they say about Kerry, but I am still rooting<br \/>\nfor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deanforamerica.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mr. Howard Dean<\/a><br \/>\n&#8211; check out his li&#8217;l speech about black history month on the 1st of Feb.<br \/>\nMore soon&#8230; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I think that today is &quot;really cool people I never met but have something in common with&quot; day &#8211; tho some of the people I am about to mention I have met, but I doubt they remember me.
