{"id":1501,"date":"2007-06-22T09:32:49","date_gmt":"2007-06-22T07:32:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nathanielstern.com\/blog\/2007\/06\/22\/data-returns\/"},"modified":"2007-06-22T10:34:18","modified_gmt":"2007-06-22T08:34:18","slug":"data-returns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nathanielstern.com\/blog\/2007\/06\/22\/data-returns\/","title":{"rendered":"DATA returns!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/data.ie\/images\/datattitle.gif?resize=474%2C124\" height=\"124\" width=\"474\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/data.ie\/\">Dublin Art and Technology Association<\/a>, originally founded by <a href=\"http:\/\/coin-operated.com\/\">Jonah Brucker-Cohen<\/a> and Nicky Gogan, was re-launched after a year-long hiatus, as as part of this year&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.darklight.ie\">Darklight Festival<\/a>, last night.<\/p>\n<p>Featured works \/ artists included:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.paulm.com\">Paul Makepeace<\/a>, a technologist who donates much of his income to artists, and encourages others who make decent cash to do the same (we love that); <a href=\"http:\/\/blackletter.ie\">Blackletter.ie<\/a>, self-publishing for Irish contemporary artists (has not yet reached its full potential, but already a fabulous resource, and I&#8217;ve watched it get better already in the short time I&#8217;ve been using it&#8230;); John Buckey and David Walker &#8211; The Kingdom, a 3D space akin to Second Life, but prettier and more art friendly; and <a href=\"http:\/\/recyclism.com\/\">Benjamin Gaulon<\/a>, some of the coolest public art I&#8217;ve seen in a while, especially his <em>de pong game<\/em>, highly recommended by following the relevant links above.<\/p>\n<p>Per usual, folks were invited to &#8220;bring your new videos, websites, works in progress!&#8221; but I had to jet home to help with the babe befre we got to that part&#8230; <a href=\"http:\/\/data.ie\/\">DATA<\/a> is a great presentation, resource and discussion group &#8211; congrats to the organizers for breathing life into it again.
