I produced a dozen new <a href=\"http:\/\/compressionism.net\">Compressionist<\/a> digital prints, which will likely travel to a bit of Europe with Haydn after the summer ends &#8212; will post some pics of the opening and more info when my life slows down a bit (may be a while), but click the link above for images, info, etc. Haydn is a rad guy and I hope to be working with him more in the future:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Haydn Shaughnessy Gallery, based in rural Cork, Ireland, specialises in contemporary art created through computing and allied technologies. The gallery&#8217;s artists share a common philosophy of using digital technology to encourage us to look again at the world around us.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This week, I&#8217;m prepping some new work for the <a href=\"http:\/\/icommons.org\/isummit-07\/about-the-summit\/\">iCommons Summit<\/a>, residency and exhibition in Croatia and <a href=\"http:\/\/icommons.org\/isummit-07\/second-life-at-the-summit\/\">Second Life<\/a> &#8211; which will be a video diptych (a new <a href=\"http:\/\/nathanielstern.com\/concepts\/language-lapse.html\">language lapse<\/a>) as well as the first in a new site-specific series I&#8217;m tentatively calling &#8216;sentimental constructions.&#8217; Watch this space for more on both of those&#8230; Oh, and there will also be reciprocal interviews between me and Paddy Johnson (<a href=\"http:\/\/artfagcity.com\/\">artfagcity<\/a>) on the <a href=\"http:\/\/icommons.org\/\">iCommons blog<\/a> in the coming week or two :) Other Commons artists-in-res include <a href=\"http:\/\/www.caofei.com\/\">Cao Fei<\/a> (China), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.firstpulseprojects.com\/joy.html\" class=\"external text\" title=\"http:\/\/www.firstpulseprojects.com\/joy.html\" rel=\"nofollow\">Joy Garnett<\/a> (USA), <a href=\"http:\/\/anahusman.net\/\" class=\"external text\" title=\"http:\/\/anahusman.net\" rel=\"nofollow\">Ana Husman<\/a> (Croatia), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artthrob.co.za\/03dec\/artbio.html\" class=\"external text\" title=\"http:\/\/www.artthrob.co.za\/03dec\/artbio.html\" rel=\"nofollow\">Kathryn Smith<\/a> (South Africa),  Tim Whidden (representing <a href=\"http:\/\/mteww.com\/\" class=\"external text\" title=\"http:\/\/mteww.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">MTAA,<\/a> USA) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jaka.org\/\" class=\"external text\" title=\"http:\/\/www.jaka.org\" rel=\"nofollow\">Jaka \u00c5\u00bdeleznikar<\/a> (Slovenia).<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s see, I&#8217;m also presenting at a conference this Friday at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ucd.ie\/\">UCD<\/a> &#8211;  <a href=\"http:\/\/ucdbodyconference.com\/\">&#8216;perpectives on the body and embodiment&#8217;<\/a> &#8211; in the philosophy department, so things are a bit crazed (can only go to one day of the proceedings, then I leave for Dubrovnik!)&#8230; Other exhibitions and residencies go on for the rest of the summer, both exciting and exhausting &#8211; plus visits back to both homes in SA and the USA (tho the latter is very brief, on route to a workshop\/residency in Colorado) &#8211; before I buckle down again and start writing the PhD in Dublin in October.
