{"id":1443,"date":"2007-04-23T15:43:09","date_gmt":"2007-04-23T13:43:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nathanielstern.com\/blog\/2007\/04\/23\/compressionism-in-cork-and-on-dvblog\/"},"modified":"2007-10-19T14:18:09","modified_gmt":"2007-10-19T12:18:09","slug":"compressionism-in-cork-and-on-dvblog","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nathanielstern.com\/blog\/2007\/04\/23\/compressionism-in-cork-and-on-dvblog\/","title":{"rendered":"Compressionism in Cork and on DVblog"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This past weekend, Haydn Shaughnessy (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mediangler.com\/\">blogger<\/a> and regular columnist for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ireland.com\/\">Irish Times<\/a>) invited me out to the beautiful countryside of West Cork to make some of my site-specific <a href=\"http:\/\/compressionism.net\/\">Compressionist<\/a> prints; we hit the local pubs, beaches, foliage and his garden in order to produce new images. This new series, which also includes some scans from Dublin excursions, will be exhibited at his new Cork-based gallery, opening at the end of next month (along with a few images from <a href=\"http:\/\/callandresponse.co.za\/\">my last show in Johannesburg<\/a>), as part of a duo show with Cork-based, Canadian printmaker Paul LaRocque &#8212; my first exhibition in Ireland. Rock.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/compressionism.net\/\">Compressionism<\/a> is a &#8220;digital performance and analog archive,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d where I traverse bodies, spaces and objects with my scanner face, while its head is in motion.
