blogthis! for safari

I decided to make myself useful this morning. First, some blog news! For those
of you using OSX and the unmatchable Safari browser, the Mozilla BlogThis!
bookmarklet (for blogger new) will work for you, assuming you want/need
a "blog this" function.
I’ve now taken this javascript and modified it a bit for those of us using framed
blogs on larger sites. This BlogThis!
button (just finished) will add a target="_blank" parameter to your
anchor tag in Safari (so you won’t have to), thus opening your blogged link in
a new window. Yay for lazy people! It will probably work in Mozilla browsers,
too… By all means, tell your friends!

blog-glossary

Big sigh. It’s 5AM, South African time (note that blogger’s time stamp system
does not handle non-daylight-savings countries’ time very well). I’ve been up
since 3. I usually only get up this early when I have heaps of work I want to
do. Granted, I do have a lot of work to do, but I was intending to
sleep in this morning. It’s hard to work at 3AM without a plan, ya know? I am
totally wired.
This is for many reasons, most already mentioned in other blogs, but one new
one: Nicole and I are putting another offer on another new
flat. Let’s hope this one goes through. Oh, and I also have heartburn.
Check out this great "blog
glossary" link
that Christo sent me.
Drink more tea.

i hate gates

It was recently brought to my attention that hektor.net
(see description here), an
old net.art site (2000) of mine has an inherent bug in Windows on IE 5.5 and higher.
This is to the fault of Miscrosoft and their active-X upgrade non-compliance with
QuickTime, but the problem has been remedied. If you’re yet to check out hektor.net,
do as such (recommended for high
bandwidth; need QuickTime,
flash
and be sure to turn up your volume! Lemme know if you catch a bug, but I doubt
it :).
I’s hungry.

jean grey, jean gray, the phoenix + OS X

Seems that if I had spelled "Jean Gray" as "Jean Grey" there
might have been more to find when surfing. Here’s
an article that mentions her possible role as the Phoenix in the next feature
film.
I was thinking of buying a new Mac in the coming months – one that can better
handle OS X – but when doing a little research, I was reminded of their hardware
upgrades in the works, outlined very well here.
That article, however, is from well over a year ago, and we still haven’t heard
much (there was an article in MacWorld a few months ago on the 64-bit chip, but
when searching for it, I only found this,
from January 2000!). This
is a prequel to the announcement from late 2002, but even though I found tons
of links from around the same date, I found nothing newer. My source from the
rumourville is guessing January 2004 at the MacWorld Expo for a big release. We’ll
see. Any
ideas out there?

Here’s
one more good read about the debate, but nothing new since yesterday, really.
Where are all the heroes?
