I had a fab dinner with Wayne
Barker
and "The Troyeville Uncles" at his place last night – what
a bunch! Wayne did not like being called "not so enigmatic but undoubtedly
talented" on my post from a few days ago. He says that "everyone is
talented… I want to be enigmatic!" I couldn’t help but laugh :) In my world,
there are very few people who are talented, and to be enigmatic is not necessarily
a good thing; it was also, at the time that I wrote it, probably the last word
I would ever use to describe him (a bit redundant to say that, I think; just wanted
to be clear). But perhaps my misunderstanding of Wayne – despite how talented
I think he is, his seeing talent all around him – begins to make him a bit more
mysterious, er, enigmatic, than I initially thought him to be. Yay, art.
