what’d I get?

It’s my birthday today!!! Woohoo!
From my better half, I got some cozy slippers (wearing them now), a beautiful
pair of dark brown corduroys (perfect fit – also wearing) and the
latest Barbara Trapido novel
(one of my favorite authors; oddly, even though
she is South African and it is her first novel about South Africa – she now lives
in Oxford – Nicole had to special order it from overseas. It’s not yet out here.).
To appease my children’s book fetish (have I mentioned I started writing one,
myself, a few weeks ago? It’s fun :), my sister has sent me the new Artemis
Fowl book
(not here yet) and my parents have given me some cash "specifically
for buying Harry
Potter & the Order of the Phoenix,
when it comes out on June 21st."
And of course Hillary Clinton decided to release her
new book
just around birthday time; little does she know that I will not be
purchasing it, despite its appeal to children – Republicans, Democrats & Independents,
alike.
No one has bought me a new Mac, so you may still do so (mailing address available
on
request).

Speaking of Harry Potter, I stumbled on this
book
today, while surfing. YAY! A justification for me to read the books (like
I need one)! Anywho, it’ll hopefully make it to SA soon enough. It’d be a great
resource for my own writing endeavors.
Hoping to go to the studio for a few hours today, to work on To Sir, With
Love,
part of serial
faces.
I’m still feeling a little sickly (I don’t think I’ve mentioned
I’ve been sick over the past week or so), but other than that, it’s already been
a fab day – and it’s still early!
"You say it’s your birthday!" (Do do do do do doooo, do do!)
