I guess so (in answer to below post)

So now, a few hours later, most polls and articles are saying that, hands down, Kerry won the debate over Bush. He was more articulate, relaxed, presidential. However, depending on the writer and paper/network, they highlight different issues and quotes (duh!). The scary thing is that despite the fact that Kerry has a substantial lead in those who believe he won the debate, and his status went up on most voters’ lists in all kinds of ways, Bush is still leading in the “who I will vote for” polls. Some say that this will take a few days to change - given the obscene budget Republicans have spent on smear campaigns - others say Kerry has to fair better than Bush in all the debates to get the votes he needs, and still others are saying that it’s too little, too late: Bush is gonna win.

I hope that both latter groups are wrong.

the debates

I couldn’t sleep, and so was up at 3 this morning and could listen to the the first presidential debate, over the internet.

Sometimes, I found myself cheering, other times, I just answered (to myself) for Bush and Kerry, when I didn’t like their answers - which was a lot more fun. Now that it’s over, I’ve been reading a few of the first articles about the debate, and I can’t help but wonder (even when I ignore my answers, and listen to the ones that actually came out of the candidates’ mouths), ‘Did these reporters listen to the same debate I did?’

Maybe it’ll be better tomorrow (but that’s what I’ve been hoping for over the last 4 years!)….
