Stewart Tansley - First look at MSR’s “touch light”

This is very interesting to me as an artist working with body and motion tracking for interactive installation and multimedia performance. Rather than one camera that has difficulty with differing backgrounds, and can’t accomplish one to one (point source) tracking, this uses two cameras and a special projection screen, making these yesterday’s problems. It creates a very accurate 3-D space, very close to the screen (their calling it a new kind of non-touch screen, and it works a lot like what we saw in minority report). Can we make it bigger, and combine it with some of my older posts on working Star Wars-like holograms, for a 4D Jaron Lanier meeting room or real-time Holodeck experience?
