JAG show

I had a great meeting with 3 peops over at the Johannesburg Art Gallery yesterday;
seems like I will be having my first solo show in downtown Jozi sometime in the
late third or early fourth quarter of next year! They were really interested in
the odys series (to
be completed), odys, Nathaniel,
hektor, x,
and my idea of making a new, site-specific interactive installation.
Given that they were keen on the two former, I think the latter should be a hektor
piece, and I might also recommend my completing and showing the whole series of
[hektor:] abstract machines
of faciality
- along with the original pinhole photographs, thus making
a completely non-aggressive narrative
(NAN)
show. The working title, for now, is The Storyteller -
taken from my favorite Walter Benjamin paper.

Speaking of exhibitions, it also looks like I will be having a "duo"
show with Marcus Neustetter
(of The
Trinity Session
fame) at ArtSpace in May, 2004. The working title is The
getAway Experiment,
and on my end, it will mostly be pieces from serial
faces.
Marcus will
be making work that similarly explores giving physicality to the digital, and
we think we may try a short residency of collaboration for the rest of the experiment/show.

Yay, art.

Oh, and our home is finally finished and we can unpack. Rock. I wonder how Jen
Wandy’s home is doing. She’s good people and we like her.
