Sometimes, I hate being out of the American loop while in Johannesburg…. Here is Michael Moore’s new book, Dude, Where’s My Country? An even better description is here. What a star!
And here is a bit more he has to say on Wesley Clark. I wish that Clark himself was a bit more verbose with the public…

unsure, ambiguity, not indifference

Not sure how I feel about the whole of Clark’s Civilian Reserve idea, but it is indeed a fantastic speech, worth reading. My unsurety is more ambiguity than anything else - his idea is not that dramatic right now, but I would have been thrilled to help in a post-9/11 world from South Africa… My complaint: there is still no on the issues link to be found on Clark’s site. Do we have another Clinton, unable to committ to certain ideals, not prepared to show his hand, so that he can go where the money, or support, is later? I liked Clinton alright, I guess, but I don’t want another wishy-washy president. This is a bold speech, but where is Clark’s point-by-point, I want this on one issue, this on another, etc, plan? The draft Clark sites all told us what he believed in. If all of it were true, then why hasn’t he said it himself? Seems like dangerous political territory to me…
